The uncertainties surrounding Aspis Liv's control over its assets have not been resolved. FI has therefore decided that, until further notice, Aspis Liv may not enter into any new insurance contracts. Aspis Liv has also been removed of the right to control its assets in Sweden.
During a supervisory review, it came to FI’s attention that Aspis Liv did not have control over the majority of its assets.
On Tuesday, FI ordered Aspis Liv to submit a plan that would guarantee that the company had regained control over its assets. The plan was supposed to be submitted to FI no later than 12PM on November 12. The documentation was submitted on time. According to Aspis Liv, its own funds will be restored on November 25.
However, FI believes the uncertainties surrounding control of the company's assets are still of such a magnitude that measures must be taken to protect the policyholders.
