PRESS RELEASE
Finansinspektionen's supervision has indicated that Aspis Liv Försäkrings AB, an insurance company, does not have control over the majority of its assets.
FI believes that the assets do exist, but that it is unclear who is in control of them. According to the regulatory framework, an insurance company must always have at its disposal sufficient funds to fulfil its commitments.
FI considers the situation to be very serious and has ordered Aspis Liv to submit a financial recovery plan for a rapid restoration of its own funds.
Aspis Liv has until Thursday, November 12, 2009, at 12PM to submit a plan that demonstrates it has regained control over its assets.
