Finansinspektionen and the Riksbank have jointly assessed Bankgirocentralen BGC AB's operations during 2009. In Sweden, Bankgirocentralen BGC AB (BGC,) is the main intermediary of retail payments between the banks.
Finansinspektionen and the Riksbank have assessed BGC's payment system for compliance with the Bank for International Settlements' Core Principles for Systemically Important Payment Systems (CPSIPS).
The assessment of Finansinspektionen and the Riksbank is that BGC's payment system fully complies with the principles.
Due to the changes that will take place in conjunction with the outsourcing of large portions of BGC's operations to VocaLink, Finansinspektionen and the Riksbank have decided not to assess BGC in accordance with Core Principles VII and VIII in the assessment for 2009.
