Finansinspektionen has decided on new general guidelines that replace FFFS 2016:21 regarding remuneration policies in mutual benefit societies, exchanges, and clearing organisations.
Under the amendments, these general guidelines no longer apply to mutual benefit societies. Some editorial changes were also made.
The firms should have a remuneration policy that is in accordance with sound risk management and does not encourage short-term profits and excessive risk-taking. The general guidelines provide guidance on how a firm should handle the risks that may arise from variable remuneration.
These general guidelines enter into force on 1 November 2020.
