Finansinspektionen (FI) is presenting today its proposal for a stricter amortisation requirement. Following a decision by FI’s Board of Directors, the proposal is now being submitted to the Government for approval.
Under the stricter amortisation requirement, new mortgagors with mortgages in excess of 4.5 times their gross income must amortise at least 1 per cent of the debt in addition to the amortisation requirement.
The proposal will be presented by FI's Director General Erik Thedéen and Chief Economist Henrik Braconier at a press conference today.
Time: Monday, 13 November, 13:00.
Location: FI's premises, Brunnsgatan 3.
The press conference is for media only, but will be broadcast live on FI's website.
