Investor alert: Hoover Bright Independent Finance Advisor

Finansinspektionen (the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority) has today published this statement in order to warn investors against dealing with unauthorised firms.

Hoover Bright Independent Finance Advisor has not received authorisation from Finansinspektionen and therefore is not entitled to provide financial services in Sweden. Finansinspektionen has not received any notification of cross-border activities from other EEA countries.

Reportedly, representatives from Hoover Bright Independent Finance Advisor contact investors through unsolicited telephone calls and offer to buy their holdings of shares in American companies. Investors must first pay a fee in advance ("security deposit") to secure the deal. This appears to be an advance fee fraud scheme.
