Finansinspektionen (the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority) has today published this statement in order to warn investors against dealing with unauthorised firms.
Investment Assurance Corporation has not received authorisation from Finansinspektionen and therefore is not entitled to provide financial services in Sweden. Finansinspektionen has not received any notification of cross-border activities from other EEA countries.
Reportedly, representatives from Investment Assurance Corporation contact investors through unsolicited telephone calls and purporting to represent a group of investors who has been victim of an investment fraud scam. They offer to help the investors for a certain cost, but the investors must first pay a fee in advance. This appears to be an advance fee fraud scheme.
