Stock exchanges
Rules regarding authorisation for stock exchanges are set out in chapter 12 of the Securities Market Act (2007:528). Chapter 13 of the same act contains provisions specifying the fundamental requirements for the business of a stock exchange. Furthermore, there are additional requirements in a number of EU regulations.
The provisions of the Securities Market Act are largely based on MiFID II, which, together with MiFIR, contains the most important rules for the participants on the capital market. Provisions regarding the application for authorisation as a stock exchange can be found in Chapter 1a of Finansinspektionen's Regulations governing operations on trading venues (FFFS 2007:17).
